About this book

Computing education meets quantum computing

Section titled “Computing education meets quantum computing”

This textbook is created by Dr. Charith Jayasekara, a lecturer in Monash University’s Faculty of Information Technology, working in computing education and quantum computing.

The purpose is simple: make a difficult subject easier to enter without losing its mathematical precision. Readers build intuition, test predictions and learn to make evidence-based claims.

Clear explanations, worked calculations and hands-on experiments support self-paced study, teaching and research. Start with the foundations or explore a specialist pathway that matches your interests.

The first source is the author’s Introduction to Quantum Computing, last updated 11 April 2026. Its complete text, tables, seven original illustrations and references are preserved in the source edition. New foundation lessons are separate adaptations and explanations, dated 6 November 2026.

The textbook is organised into a 170-chapter catalogue and a 40-experiment roadmap. Specialist volumes are being developed, with availability clearly shown in the catalogue.

Original notes occasionally contain dated roadmap forecasts and simplified analogies. The source edition identifies these limits; a scientific review is still required before treating forecasts as current hardware facts.

The book is free to read and requires no account. There are no advertising scripts or third-party analytics. Optional reading progress and theme preferences stay in your browser. Fonts, equations, search assets and PDFs are hosted with the site. Hosting providers may process ordinary web request logs under their own policies.
